App downloads and revenue by industry

Interested in viewing stats & metrics on # of iPhone or Android app downloads / revenue for a particular user community (ie. sports, games, financial, health & wellness, etc).

Purpose is to understand the range of revenue I can expect for developing an app of this type.

Can you provide a good website for such data?  Thanks!

I think you can find a lot. All of them are commercial. I don't want to advertise them.
Here is one of them: AppAnnie

Thank you.

I see lots of great info on rankings, though not seeing anything on # of downloads, or revenue received by the developer.

Maybe I'm just missing it on this website... or maybe there's another site for this type of data?

iTunes Connect.
This is the answer.
You can install iTunes Connect Mobile on your iPhone and iPad too.
And you'll see all downloads and all revenues. Of course, you see only your apps there.
You can find a million of apps showing your revenue and downloads of your apps.

Thank you again for the helpful information.

However, it's actually the market that I'm interested in researching, not my own apps.  I'm interested to see what the opportunity looks like in certain app markets, by seeing the financial or at least # of download data for certain apps in that market.  I'm seeking something similar to financial reports that one would see on yahoo finance for a company.

ie. http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=AAPL

Are there similar data available for apps?

I use appannie and 2-3 others, for example appsfigure, or we use a special service for the user tracking and this company provides us with an analitics, etc. What's funny that all of them show different info. But it helps to make an own opinion. Sometimes in a blog post you can see something about the revenues. If it's about a public company, so you always will see what's going on in the end of a quarter.
Right now I found this site http://www.distimo.com/appiq and they promise exactly what you ask.
