how to make sidebar only appear on posts and not pages in 2013 theme

I have been trying to make the secondary sidebar appear on the right hand side of only blog posts and blog type pages... i want my pages to ignore it...

the easiest solution seems to be to comment out <?php //get_sidebar(); ?> in pages.php, the problem is that wordpress still shows it the div area (minus the content) and squishes the_content()

So to summarize, how do I make the sidebar appear in only index/categories/tags/searches/author/ect  but not in pages

I would show you a sample, but my site is live and I dont want it to appear broken

All of the TwentyX themes come with a full-width template for pages.  When editing the page, look on the right side for the Template metabox and change the template from Default to Full Page or Full Width (the exact language escapes me).

Hi Jason,

No templates in the default theme, but I know what you mean.. I ended up coding it myself from scratch and making my own sidebar
