I'm installing the Exchange Mailbox Server role on a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 server, and I keep getting this error seen in the attachment. Does anyone have any suggestions on this. There are no other errors or warning in the installation prior to this error. This server will have only the mailbox server role.

Is the Windows firewall disabled?

The install log will tell you more, but the common reason for this is the Windows firewall is disabled and therefore the setup application cannot put the exclusions in.

Disabled windows firewall was the problem. I reenabled it and everything completed fine.
