How do you sync files located in your 'My Documents' folder with SkyDrive Pro?

I can see that if I log onto the Office 365 portal, there is a SYNC button, but when you click that, it just asks what library you want to sync.

I don't want to sync a SharePoint library, I just want to synchronise files on my computer with Office 365.

Any ideas?

You need to specify a local folder for the storage, the default one is %USERPROFILE%. It will create a subfolder in it, named Skyrdive @ Your_Company, and anything you place there will be synchronized. It's sort of a root folder and any library you choose to sync will be placed in it (by default it will sync your private library).

As far as I know there is no way to do what you are asking for. It cannot be scripted, as the folder is created on first run for each user. For the same reason, you cannot use folder redirection GPO, or at least not without additional preparation (i.e. installing the client and running it at least once). But seems some people are actually doing this:

The key you are looking for is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Internet\LocalSyncClientDiskLocation, but there are tons of other elements that need to be in place as well for this to work. You will have to deploy and run the client first.

So, rather than Synching My Documents you would have to get users to store their folders and files in the local SkyDrive folder?
