VL And TMG 2010

We are running Forefront TMG 2010 on our network and cannot seem to get our Volume License Server to connect to it.  Each time we attempt to read licensing from the TMG server, we receive an error message stating that the VL server cannot connect over WMI.  I have disabled the TMG Firewall and it still doesnt work. What am I missing?

Two things I think. Firstly, you can't just disable the TMG and think that it is no longer present. All you are doing is stopping the services.

Secondly, re-enable it and watch the TMG real time monitor when you attempt to connect to the online VL service - what do you see in  that screen?
