How I add trusted websites across all domain users for SBS 2008?
We have a number of websites that all domain users need to be able to access via IE on an SBS 2008 based domain. We want to add these websites to the trusted sites list without each user having to manually add them. Is there a way to distribute this list and update it easily on a domain level?
You can do this via group policy. Create a new policy (never edit defaults) and give it a descriptive name so you (or someone else) knows what it is supposed to do.
Link the policy to an OU that has the users you want to adjust. You can, for example, link it at the domain level and that will impact all users, including administrator accounts. I recommend linking to OU's whenever possible though.
Finally, adjust the settings of the OU to add sites to the trusted zone. This MSDN article describes multiple methods how. I recommend the method near the bottom, using the "site to zone" list, as it is less fragile and works across multiple versions of IE.
