Corrupted BIOS -- HP Pavillion p7-1262

Due to a failed BIOS update attempt. I am receiving 8 beeps (with amber lights) upon turning on my HP Pavilion p7-1262.   I have attempted to clear the CMOS, but it hasn't resolved the issue.  I see there is also a Bios Recovery Connector which has 4 rows of 2 pins with a jumper on the first two pins.   I have not been able to find any documentation on how to reset the BIOS using that connector or another method.  Please advise.  Thanks.

a bad flash = a dead motherboard, unless the manufacturer supplies you with a recovery method
i was unable to find such for HP systems, but you can always contact them for replacing the bios :  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5271491#N1334

ASKER

HP wanted $300 bucks to fixed a bad bios one month out of warranty.   This is the second pavilion I have bought for me personally, both had support issues.   I'm going stick with commercial desktops.

can you tell me WHY you updated the bios?  and what went wrong?
I updated the BIOS to resolve the secure boot issue with Windows 8.1.  This is a brand new bios that was release on 11/1/13.  I updated the first time fine, but I was multitasking and ended up doing it twice.    The second time it crashed.   The techs at Microcenter (where I bought it 13 months ago) are saying they can't flash a Pavilion either.   It's been awhile, but in the past I always created a CD  or USB stick to update BIOS, but it appears that option isn't available for the Pavilion p7-1262.
