Demote and Exchange server

Before I get swashbuckled here, I didn't buld htis. I walked into an environemtn where an Exchaneg 2010 server is also a RODC,  Is it pissible to demote the Exchaneg server from beign a DC and just move the GC it points to withou mucking stuff up?  I don't see why not but wanted to see if anyonehad experience with this.

That isn't a supported configuration.

Running DCPROMO on Exchange isn't supported either and will usually break Exchange.

Therefore the only option is to move Exchange to another server using the standard methods. Once Exchange has been removed you can then DCPROMO it out.

Anything else will break Exchange.
