Sync Office 365 Users with Active Directory

I have about 30 users in O-365 however only about 5 are in our active directory.  We want to do single sign on for all 30 users.  From what I can tell, people usually have the users already in AD and need to sync those to 365.  What is the process for the reverse?   Also, can I simply create a new OU for these users and only sync those users?  We currently do not have any onsite Exchange, Lync, etc services.  Only AD.

Dirsync is one-way process, only certain attributes can be written back to the AD and only in some special cases. In your scenario, you can create new AD accounts for the users that are already in the cloud and use the so-called soft-matching to 'link' them to the Office 365 accounts. Read more about it here:
