Hello EE,

We have an EMC VNX 5300 and it is running out of space.
We are in the process of getting a new set of trays but if we bring up the new system and get started on the existing LUN in our one Pool can we move that LUN to the new pool.

Thanks

If you add the new disk to the existing array you can either add some disk to your existing pool or create a new pool. If you create a new pool, it's easy to move LUNs about using the Migrate.... Option in Unisphere. Right-click on the LUN, select migrate, select the destination pool, go have a cup of tea. The migration happens 100% online and non-disruptively.
