cisco asa upgrade

I need to replace my damaged asa 5505 with another spare asa 5505 I have. On the spare I know I can copy the run config to from the damaged one. I have to upgrade the spare to version as well 8.4(2). What do I need to do specifically? Any good documentation or step by step guidelines and advice?

Take a backup of the faulty 5505 if possible
Backup and Restore a Cisco Firewall.

To upgrade see
Cisco ASA5500 Update System and ASDM (From ASDM)
or I prefer via command line
Cisco ASA5500 Update System and ASDM (From CLI)

should I upgrade the spare asa first to the new version 8.4(2) then copy the config from another simuilar version or copy the config first from the other asa and then do the upgrade?
