Hi,

I have an issue when trying to search for email in outlook 2007, if I search for emails from a company e.g.BBC  I only get result for emails in the inbox and not in the archive, this has only started to happen this week, is there a setting for what folders to search?

In the Search Bar for Outlook, there is a setting to the right side "Current folder, Current Mailbox, All Mailboxes..."   Make sure this is set properly. It looks to be set on current folder.

Take a look at the Outlook 2007 Search Settings below:

Outlook-2007-Search-Settings
Check that everything is set properly.

Then, if that does not work, go to Control Panel, Index Options and make sure the folder (normally users) that hold the Outlook PST or OST file is in the search locations. Then go to the advanced tab and rebuild the Index. Keep Outlook closed while doing this.

You might (before doing the location check and re-index) do an Office Repair. This can be done from Control Panel. First look in Outlook or Word, Trust Center, Privacy Options, and check (select) the setting that says "Download a file periodically from Microsoft.."  Do this before the Office Repair.
