In the article it says it supports snmp with ipv6 only on windows vista and windows server 2008. I want to specifically for 2008r2 because i have an application which is not connecting using ipv6 on server 2008r2.

Thanks

if it works in 2008 it should work with 2008R2 . . . I would recommend trying a command line utility:
http://www.snmpsoft.com/freetools/snmpwalk.html

and see if you can hit your device.  It's either in the network / firewall or your configuration is off.

could be a firewall issue.  The only way to know for sure is to try another SNMP client and then start troubleshooting.
