Move Symantec Enterprise Vault target to new server

Hi All,

I'm planning to upgrade our current fileshare servers to new server with better storage.

Currently our old fileshare server is running windows server 2003 sp2 and using symantec enterprice vault v to archived the old files. This old physical fileshare servers is using virtual dns name because have cluster failover.

Our new fileshare servers is using windows servers 2008 R2 Ent in VM and all the folder structure will be exactly the same from the old fileshare servers just only the drive is different

We will point the virtual dns server to the new server.

The SEV targets file servers also is using the virtual dns name.

The question is can I just run the syncronization after install the FSA agent to new server or I still need to used the FSAUtility and copy the placeholder to new server?

After adding new File server as target for archiving in EV.
You need to run FSAUtility with -pm option to migrate placeholders to new file server.

Dont use any other tool(Reobocopy) or any other switch -m in FSAUtility.
