Admin credentials required for audit?

We have Quickbooks 2011 Premier Non profit  edition installed.  A third party tax firm audits our business annually.  In addition to requesting an accountants copy of the company file, they also request a user account in Quickbooks, and for credentials to the administrator account.
Is this standard practice?

For the auditors to use all the functions of QuickBooks, yes, this would be a requirement.

I have stopped giving QuickBooks files to auditors. They do not need actual ledgers. I do my own adjusting entries.

I give Auditors the general ledger using an Excel export of the GL. This serves their need as well (imports directly into their tax program) and avoids giving them the QB file.
