PHD Virtual Backup 6.5

Issues backing up only vmware-view machines with PHD Virtual Backup 6.5. All other vm's backup fine. They error out with

Does this happen with all your VMware View machines, are they linked clones?

Yes it does. No, they are full clones from a template.

Check for snapshots on the VM, are there any present?

also check that the disk persistent settings, are the same as other VMs which do backup.

if you convert the original golden master template to a VM (do not power On), and try and backup, does this backup succesfully?

No snapshots and the persistent settings are the same. I converted the template to a VM and it fails so I guess its not an issue with Vmware-view.

Are you able to backup other VM's from another host using PHD? IS this a new host you are backuping up with PHD? Is your licensing correct for PHD?

Yes, I can backup other VM's. No it is not a new host. PHD support says they wont support View clients but Ive cloned the machine in question, which isnt part of Vmware-View, and it still fails.

Ok, I understand. so you can backup other VM's OK but just cannot backup your Vmware view VM's. I wonder if it's a locking issue with the parents VMDK file. Are you able to backup ESXi files with PHD or just content in guest VM'?
