Is there a way to export iPhone favorites (favorite as in the contact, not Safari bookmark)

I basically have the same problem as described at - https://discussions.apple.com/message/7605627

Got a new iPhone and want to transfer my favorite (contacts) to the new phone.  All contacts seem to be there, just not my favorite selections.  Is there an easy way to do this, or do I have to go back to the dreaded Apple store?

No - there is no way to export the favorites from one iPhone to another.

If you BACKUP an iPhone to iCloud or locally on the PC using iTunes and then RESTORE the backup onto a new iPhone you will keep ALL settings including contacts, favorites etc.  
However if you're trying to pass contacts from one iPhone to another .. there is no way to do this that I am aware.
