Differentiate between wires

Any good pictures about the following connectors and how to tell the difference.

Firewire, Thunderbolt, and there is a wire that can be connected from the computer to TV and watch for instance a movie that runs on your computer but displayed on TV screen.

If someone has very clear pictures of different connectors that will help…I hear a lot about different connectors in computer industry but, sometimes until I will have to buy one to know the name of it.

Digital Inspiration has a failry decent write-up with pictures.

FYI - Thunderbolt is the same connector as a Mini Display Port
