We should be able to define the blocks
We should be able to resize the blocks
We should be able swap the blocks
Persist the layout

I only know gridster.net at this point of time. Usually it's better evaluate few options and choose the best among them. Hence I want to know what are the good alternatives.

A couple of years ago I had to write my own dashboard javascript functionality as I couldn't find anything available.
At that time I based by self on the google dashboard functionality and implemented it reusing jquery ui drag & drop functions:
http://jqueryui.com/draggable/
http://jqueryui.com/droppable/

There are various implementation around:
https://connect.gxsoftware.com/dashboardplugin/demo/dashboard.html
http://modeln.github.io/sDashboard/
http://www.civicactions.com/blog/2009/feb/22/jquerydashboard_plugin

Honestly I prefer the gridster approach.
