ShadowProtect
download a ShadowProtect for testing but it seems that it only support offline backup.
Which version should I use for backing up servers (SQL Server, Exchange, Window, etc) in online mode ? Do we need to setup an additional server to archive this ? Frankly, we need to attach a portal HDD and backup the data into the server if possible.

What's the difference? Is there any manual to see how it works ?
it is for servers rather than desktops. i have not tested that one either I am afraid. there should be a manual on the website.
