Hi!

I am the owner of a google doc that many people view and edit. I update the google doc with new information once a week. Is there an easy way to email everyone who's shared on  the doc, so that I can let them know once it's been updated?

Thanks!

That's nice! However, I don't want it to be an automatic thing whenever anyone edits, because many people edit and it would get to be too much email. I really want it to be an on-demand kind of thing, that I can do once a week.

Any ideas?

I think its either you want to send updates or you don't. its their product.

I'm not sure if you understand me.

I don't want to know when other people update the doc - it's many times a day and it doesn't concern me. I only want people to be notified when I update. That link looks like I can set up my personal notification settings, but it won't change if/when other people get notified.

its your document which you are updating. you are setting up notifications by logging on to your google account so I presumed that it would only send updates when you update the document not others.

Others may add hopefully.

I don't see how to do that...

From the link:

"Folks in my company may not voluntarily sign up for notifications to company policy documents, but I need to be able to force them to receive them for regulatory and compliance reasons."

The second link doesn't seem to match the interface I see in google docs

This is actually a spreadsheet that i'm talking about...

but in this link https://support.google.com/drive/answer/91588?hl=en, it tells you how to "select when and how often you want to receive notifications"

if you select your file and then click on More on top and then Share -> Email Collaborators. There are some options over there.

I cannot find any other options as per that google document help page
