Crystal Reports Left MID O or ?

I have item codes in my system that begin with "SS" I need strip the SS of the item code.
How can I do this?

Assuming they allstart with SS

Mid({YourField},3)

If some don't start with SS
If Left({YourField},2) == "SS" then  
   Mid({YourField},3)
Else
   {YourField}
