Can I unlock ATT iPhone during the  2 yrs contract?

AT&T saying they cannot unlock during the 2 year contract.  Is there way I can do it on my own?

Unfortunately, your provider controls the unlocking process when the phone is still under contract with them. Unless you are at end of contract, or have paid full price or to have the contract released, they will not unlock the phone.

And, if there were methods to do so, we could not provide you information to do so anyway - sorry!
