I'm trying to set up syslog logging on a Cisco Catalyst 4506 with IOS Version 12.2(25)EWA14
The logging configuration is:

no logging console
logging trap debugging
logging facility syslog
logging source-interface Vlan1
logging 10.1.1.77
logging 10.3.40.140

I'm using the Kiwi Syslog console from Solarwinds (eval version for now). About the only messages I get are the "configured from console" messages when I exit config mode.

Thanks for your help in advance.

The "logging trap debugging" tells it to only log that severity level and below.

You should be able to set it to 7 to get everything.  See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa82/configuration/guide/monitor_syslog.html#wp1092814 for more information.

I should have seen that!  Although it didn't do a lot it did increase the messages a bit. We are going to update to a more recent version of IOS and see if it helps.
