Yahoo Mail Plus gives you the ability to send emails through Outlook and you can configure Outlook to request a read receipt when you send an email.

In Outlook, Go to Tools > Receipts Tab > Requesting Read Receipts
> (Check) Request a receipt for all sent messages. > Returning Read Receipts > Always
Send Read Receipt > Apply > Ok.

Note, depending upon your version of Outlook, these steps may be a little different.
