I found this key on registry call

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet

Is this reliable to get the browsers that are installed on the machine and also get the .exe path.

Well, my best guess would be to use the Registry.

For installer browsers you have this path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths
Inside you'll find Google and Opera and Firefox folders, pick the Path key value inside.

Use this to read from registry:
Registry.GetValue(keyName, valueName, defaultValue)

For internet explorer I think the best way is to use:
%PROGRAMFILES%\Internet Explorer
