Hi, you can use outlook to track the message using delivery confirmations, but that is the only way you can do it.

This will show you how - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/get-delivery-and-read-receipt-confirmations-HP010355029.aspx

Just so i'm straight on what you are trying to do;

You require a message to be sent from your server to an outside user saying something along the lines of "your message has been received" when they send an email in?

Lovely, in that case, try this

Configure Outlook for the account that you want to use Auto-Reply feature on.  In Outlook client go to Tools, Rules and Alerts.  Click on New Rule, under Start from blank rule choose Check messages when they arrive and hit Next.  Choose what you need in there and hit Next again.  Choose have server reply using a specific message and click on a specific message link.  Type in desired subject and message.  Hit Finish and you are set to go.
