I have an Error copying virtual machine from one host to another using vsphere vmware

Once everything from the datastore is copied over to the new host I get an error that
cannot open the disk .vmdk or one of the snapshot disks it depends on

there are no snapshots on the datastore any thoughts on how to resolve this?
