Expressing shapesheet user.values within text entered in the ShapeSheet Comments cell

Hi
I have a visio shape which contains two shapesheet user variables:

User.apples (value = 4)
User.pears   (value = 3)

I want the comment cell in the shape /miscellaneous section to concatenate these values into text, so that when the mouse is run over the shape, the comment box reads:
"I have 4 apples and 3 pears."

"I have " & User.apples & " apples and " & User.pears & " pears."  does not evaluate the shapesheet references.

Can I do this without using vba to 'hard write' the comment text I need?

You're heading in exactly the right direction... must just be punctuation. I think this is what you want:
shapesheet.PNG

one more thought -- be sure you have a equal sign at the beginning of the formula

Thanks! (It would have helped if I'd read my shapesheet cell for VALUE, not Formula!
Hiho..)
