I have long queries to run.
I am looking for a remote mysql server that has a long timeout time.
I can not use localhost on my desktop computer because we need remote access.
Currently I am using godaddy hosting which times out after 3 minutes.

As long as each query finishes before the time-out, you should be fine. So if you had:

Query A: Takes 2 minutes to run
Query B: Takes 2 minutes to run
Query C: Takes 2 minutes and 30 seconds to run

...then you should be able to execute each one of them individually and it should work.

The only problem would be if any queries ran longer than the timeout (e.g. Query B took 3 minutes and 30 seconds to run), but you could try setting the session timeout. Just run this query to set it to 300 seconds (5 minutes):

SET @@SESSION.wait_timeout=300;

Typically the timeouts only happen when there's no activity for that period of time, but you can give it a try.

That would be the correct answer to the question but I think I am looking for 'database hosting'  (if this is a correct search term) because I getting no data returned using a query editor which means i am not ready for php yet.
