yahoomail app
account settngs
show in status bar (checked)

Using android 2.3
I only see in the status bar new emails if the yahoo app is turned on

So every time I restart or turn on android phone I need to remember to click on the yahoo app

Windows7 has a startup folder

Is there a startup folder for android

a previous suggestion:
Try downloading the ITTT (If This Then That) app.
VERY powerful app that can launch all sorts of apps based on criteria or conditions you specify.

Must be an android installed app or android settings, or yahoomail settings because ifttt.com does not work specifically for android starting yahoo email on startup.

If you write your own apps you can make them start at bootup. Otherwise you will need an app to do it for you, like this one, Startup Manager.
