Capture an OS to iso file

Hello Experts

I performed a clean install of a windows 7 OS on a PC and after I installed all my relevant SW on it as well.
Now, I am looking for a free tool to generate an .ISO file that will include this OS and all installed applications on it so I can deploy it on another PC (same model) – is there a tool such as this? Is there another way to do this?

one way is to install windows and additional software, and updates, and then run sysprep to delete the pc specific information ( /generalize option) and prepare the computer for users ( /oobe will put windows into the same mode as in a preinstalled PC).

after that create image of the HD to an external HD, and  transfer that image to the other PC (use disk imageing software e.g. clonezilla )
