SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 Standard via Migration Tool: Countdown Expired Before Completion!
I am migrating a server from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 for a client, using the Migration Prep Tool. The 21 day countdown has expired, and I am at the point in the migration of moving the legacy user mailboxes to the new source server. I am remotely connected (TeamViewer) to the new server, and am receiving an error message on the destination server indicating "cannot connect to server". I'm thinking this is due to the source server being shutdown, and I need to restart it? Will I have to restart it hourly or what is the best way to continue the migration manually?

Thanks for the advice-the delay was caused by the client not having enough 2011 CALs for the new server-only the 5 that came with SBS 2011. How do I go about transferring the FSMO roles?

One other POSSIBLE solution is to transfer the FSMO roles from the 2011 servers to the 2003 server. This may buy you another 3 weeks as you'll be stealing 3 weeks from the next 2011 migration but since it's unlikely you'll need to do one in the same manner, that may be ok. Just keep in mind, once you steal all three weeks from the 2011 server, there is no going back (beyond restoring backups and you need to be careful with that). So you really need to plan how you're going to finish this process as quickly as possible (WHY is it taking so long?)
