How do I keep network drive mappings with Mac laptops?
How do I set up mappings to network shares that will stay on (but not connected) when the users take these laptops home?
When they are in the office, my users have a network share connection and icon on their desktop to our networked file server (via SMB).
However, if they put the computer to sleep and go home, they get a "Server Connection interrupted" error msg and the drive mapping then goes away. This causes an annoyance because when they return to the office, they have to reconnect and remap the network drive.
Is there a better way to do this?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thank you for the link. I've tried that and it works well, but only if the laptop stays in the office. Once the user takes it home, and enters their login credentials, an error comes up right away saying There was a problem connnecting to the server: 'fileserver' before his desktop appears.
Is there a way to disable that alert when he is at home?
