I have 5 assorted rectangles that I'd like to make the same size.  Once I select all of them, where is the area where I can modify all of their their lengths and widths at the same time?

With all shapes selected, click on the status bar in the lower-left of the window, where it says Width, Height, Angle, etc.

This should bring up the Size & Position dialog. Changes you make to the fields in this dialog will affect all selected shapes.
