Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

This the error code I receive when I am trying to fix a Micrsoft Wireless 1000 mouse and keyboard.

i have uninstalled the driver and re installed and i get the same error.  I tried the process again, then reboot the pc and tried it and looked in device manager and it still indicates that its not working.

so when i uninstalled the driver again, rebooted, then tried to reinstall the driver it says that it still has the original driver installed and for me to uninstall first.

the Mircosoft mouse and keyboard were working fine yesterday and pc was shut down, then started up again today and the wireless mouse and keyboard will not work.  any ideas????

Hi, just a quick idea try system restore?
When you open device manager go to the top open VIEW and tick show hidden devices, this will only show while device manager is open , now look through your devices for duplicates yellow question marks and devices with "other"
If you discover any I would recommend booting into safemode so your have free access to devices drivers away from windows explorer and your AV.
Normally keyboard and mouse don't really require drivers as they are Plug and play and windows will automatically install them once detected.
However if you want the utilities say from the Microsoft keyboard and mouse software.
I have both as well Microsoft.
If you have installed this software try and uninstall that to release the hook.
