Mavericks Email

I have a Mac that was just upgraded to Mavericks. using the Mail app on maverics, I am trying to set up an exchange account. I can send e-mail but nothing gets recieved. I have checked the server name and username for spelling errors.

the exchange server is 2003. does mavericks support that version?

There is some compatibilities issues with Mavericks and Mac Mail.  See this discussion to see what other people are experiencing:

thanks. i didn't want to spend a lot of time banging out some solution that would not work if it is not supported by the OS. this saves me time.
