disabling AjaxFileUpload

I searched everywhere and no luck. Is it possible to disable AjaxFileUpload.  I use the ajaxUpload1_OnUploadComplete event.  I let user upload file and I attached username in front of the file at upload time.  However if user goes direct to upload I want to disable it when no username entered.  enable = false on ajaxUpload1 does not do anything.  If I start it invisible and turn it on after user name is entered, it does not work, because it is not recognized since it started out invisible.

So anyway I can disable this component and yet leave it on screen?
Thanks

Instead of setting visible to false, which would not render the control at all, hide it using CSS i.e. display:none

Do I apply CSS on the control itself? Ajaxupload seems to be composed of several components.  If I disable, it still lets me drag files into it's box and the botton does still function.  Thats why I was trying to make it invisible.  But is there an example of How I would apply display:non and turn it back on at run time.

Do you drag it as a single control to your form?

You can also put it in a panel control and then set that to display:none
