Exchange 2010 intermittent VSS backup errors - Veeam

At least once per week (usually on the Friday job), my SBS 2011 server fails the Veeam backup with a VSS error.

The SBS server reports event 2007: Information Store (2044) Shadow copy instance 4 aborted

The VSS writer for exchange is in a Timed Out state.

Most often, without doing anything, the subsequent jobs run fine.
