I have a Windows 2008 SBS and I'm trying to log onto the server with the ONLY "Administrator" account and I'm getting the following error message:

The user profile service failed the login
User profile cannot be loaded

Any Suggestions?

That sounds like a corrupt user profile. Can you log in to the network from a desktop or another server as the domain administrator?

If so, you can go to Start ==> Run ==> regedit to open the Registry Editor.

From their select File ==> Connect network registry.

Then browse to the 2008 SBS server.

You will now be directly interfacing with the 2008 SBS registry. Be very careful.

Then check method 1 listed in this article.

Yep you can use the shutdown command.

Open a command prompt from another PC on the domain (and logged in as the domain admin) and run the following command.

shutdown /m \\NAME-OF-YOUR-DC /r /f

/r is a restart.
/f is a force closure on hung apps.
/m specified the name of the remote server.
