SharePoint 2010 Active Directory Membership Provider

I have Claims Authentication with FBA using OOB Active Directory Membership Provider. The people picker will only resolve names if they are directly entered correctly or if a wild card is used. Is there any way to configure people picker to function as the Windows Integrated people picker does, that is resolve unknown names without a wild card?

Hi,
have not tested this yet, but perhaps you can use the configuration option:
enableSearchMethods="true"

Open in new window

on your ADMembership provider.

Thanks Rainer for the quick response. Although I had the configuration setting as the article describes, my testing was unable to make a difference in the people picker behavior. The article did help me verify that maybe what we wanted the people picker to do is not possible, so from that point of view thanks very much for the information and I am marking this as the solution.
