Hi,

It seems that I have to reinstall VMWare Tools after each Kernel update of my Ubuntu server ... is there no better (automatic) way?

Thank you!

Unfortunately not, the drivers which are compiled and built are linked to your kernel headers, change the headers, re-build VMware Tools.

We've also seen updating Linux distros, can also trigger a need to rebuild/re-install/upgrade VMware Tools.
