In twitter bootstrap 3 you can find out what tab you are on by the following code

   $('a[data-toggle="tab"]').on('shown.bs.tab', function (e) {
        console.log(e.target.hash);
    })

Open in new window

The question is is it possible to change data-toggle="tab" to another name.  I am just thinking of having multiple tabs in a page.
