Hi All,

Our ISA server finally gave up the ghost, leaving me with a new Check Point 4000 appliance.  I just want to be able to enable the following:
External Email to the server (via port 25)
OWA
ActiveSync

I can't seem to find much documentation yet, but at the moment, no external email is coming in anymore.

Any thoughts?

Regards,
Norman

Hello Norman,

Check Point firewalls are managed with a SmartDashboard application. So run this first and connect to the device.
Once this is going, and assuming the basic firewall setup is already in place, add a new line to the rule base.
If you're talking about receiving email from the Internet, the source of the packets will be "any", the destination are your Exchange server(s), the service field will include the needed ports.
The port used for email is TCP 25.
OWA and ActiveSync need ports TCP 80 and 443.

Let me know if you need additional details,
Anton.

Thank you, Anton.  I was able to get this to work with the above, now that I have a much better understanding of SmartDashboard and the related applications for the device.

I really appreciate your advice!
Regards,
Norman
