if I change the password for a user login that also changes password for exchange email. I did this on a clients server and when logging in to the computer I needed the new password and when I access email through web access. When I go into Outlook 2003 the old password still works for that account. Is there a timing issue with the server or am I doing something wrong.

Thank you.

Hi,

Outlook commonly uses windows verification, unless you have specified a password in outlook for Exchange which will (mostly) expire on reboot.
To force exchange into using the new pwd (replication between AD and exchange sometimes takes some time) restart the Microsoft Information Store service and logon to the client computer.
