Merge many contacts in Outlook

We just migrated new customers over to Office 365, which caused all of their contacts to duplicate. Some of these duplicates have additional information in them, which means we want to merge contact records. We have over 500 contact entries to go through. Not all of them are duplicated, but that is a very large amount to go through manually and see what information needs merged.

Example:
Contact record 1:
User Tom
123-456-7890 Office
user@myemail.com

Contact record 2:
User Tom
423-789-5460 Mobile
user@myemail.com

Contact record 1 has more information in it than contact record 2, so we want to merge these duplicate contacts into 1, and all of the information be there.

I am currently running the free trial of Scrubbly.com, but want to see if there are others available as well.

We just went thru something similar.

We exported the contacts into a csv comma delimited file

Used excel to sort them and with several filters we got all contacts grouped together.

Made it very simple to delete duplicates

We copy and pasted many entries with additional information etc.

Worked very nice.

So you manually went through all duplicate records and copied the information from contact 2 to contact 1 (as in my example above) to "merge" the contact records?

YEs the excel spreadsheet works great.

then after your done you can import them back into outlook.

It is tidiest work but well worth it.
