Configure VDP to delete the snapshot

If I understand VDP, during the backup of  a VM machine , it creates a snapshot.
I noticed some VMs still have the VDP snapshot showing in the snapshot manager.
I wonder if there is a way to configure VDP to delete the snapshot after the backup is done.

Thanks

You cannot configure VDP to remove snapshots after the backup is done.

The fact that Snapshots are being left over, is a failure of the backup product, but IT DOES HAPPEN with ALL Backup Products that use the VMware Snapshot/Storage API to complete backups, and has been the same since ESX was invented from version 1.0.

You need to check WHY are the snapshots being left?

It could be the product?
it could be the VM?
could be slow storage,?
could be a busy VM?
could the the time of day the backup job is running?

Personally, you need to Add Daily Check's to your VMware Admin list, to check for daily snapshots, and handle them accordingly, set Snapshot Alarms, email notifications.

We have a workflow list of 100 daily checks, our Operators check every morning at 7.00am before Core hours, which includes:-

1. Did the backups all run correct? - do you check backups?
2. Are there any leftover VMs with snapshots?
