Report Manager URL Issue

I am adding an additinal URL to Report Manager (SQL Server 2012) in addition to the locat address that is already there. If i click on the link to the local URL then the report directory comes right up. When i click on the link for new URL that i added it prompts me for credentials. No credentials that i try to include network administrator will get me in. I have searched the internet high and low and i have tried several configuration changes with different results but none have fixed my issue. Why would one work and not the other?

Thanks for you time.

use "setspn.exe -L <domain>\<user>" (the domain user that runs the SSRS service) to check for something like:
HTTP/<the url you configured>:<port>

if not, use
setspn.exe -S HTTP/<the url you configured>:<port> <domain>\<user>

to register it.
