Extended monitor with Sony TV Bravia

I am connecting my Sony TV to my win 7 computer and the best resolution i get is 1920*1080

Is there a way to make the resolution higher ?    2560 * 1600 for example ?

It depends on the Sony TV model and on the graphics card in the computer. Some Sony models go up to 3840x2160, such as the XBR 4K Ultra HD series. Some graphics cards can support 3840x2160, such as the NVIDIA Quadro K5000. But many Sony TVs and computer graphics cards max out at 1920x1080 (so-called "true HD"), so whether or not you can make the resolution higher than that depends on the TV and graphics card. My Cinema display gives me 2560 * 1600
That means the card should give me up to that, so I guess it must be the TV ?   I can't find the model tho. Its a Bravia 3d.

If your card does 2560x1600, then it's the TV that is maxing out at 1920x1080 (very common on TVs). Find the Bravia model number and then check out the max resolution in the specs/manuals at the Sony support site:
