Hi, I have 2 Cisco MDS9124 Fiber switches. I recently purchased 2 more. I am down to 1 port left on the switch. Is there any way to uplink these switches together?

Let's say you have MDS1 and MDS2 and the new MDS3 and MDS4.

If MDS1 has 1 port available, do the following.

Configure trunk between MDS1 - MDS3 and MDS3 - MDS4.

Thank you for that. I was able to get them uplinked my setting the mode on the port to E. Now just another stupidd question. When I log into the Fabric Manager SA, I see both switches, but the other says "Invalid Auth PAssword or wrong digest". How can I change that?

1. if you want to use the same username admin, telnet to each switch and issue the command:

sw# config t

sw(config)# snmp-server user admin auth md5 <password of user admin>

from FM GUI, click on the icon "rediscover" under File

2. If you want to create a generic user for FM

sw# config t

sw(config)# snmp-server user fcadmin auth md5 <password of user fcadmin>

from login to FM --> Fabric TAB ---> select fabric --> remove

Then Fabric TAB ---> click Discover ---> enter IP address of one of the switch ---> user fmadmin/password ---> discover
